Did I tell you I love possums? Well, actually I really love the idea of catching them because they tease me by hanging around in trees and looking delicious, but I can never reach them. That’s mean, don’t you think?
So when I see a possum hanging around I bark and bark and growl and snarl, until my people-family run outside and tell me to shut up. I’ve never understood that. I mean, I’m doing them a favour by trying to scare the possums away and in return they tell me to put a sock in it. It’s not easy being a dog in a people-world sometimes…
My favourite part of the day is when I wake up and hear Simon coming down the stairs. I know it’s him because he’s the loudest. When I hear his heavy footsteps on the stairs I know that soon we’re going to see if HE’S there. The possum, I mean. Every morning we go outside and I bolt down the garden path to the possum tree which I try to climb and see if he’s there. I don’t get very far and I usually end up chewing the tree in frustration because I KNOW that he’s up there SOMEWHERE but I just cannot reach him! It drives me mad, but I know I’ll get him one day…
I guess that’s called persistence, right? Persistence is really important cause sometimes you just have to keep trying something till you succeed and that might mean you just have to get up every day and chase that possum till you catch him, so good luck with whatever possums you’re trying to catch and never give up!

See ya next time, Charlie
